We weren't always Minnesota's largest volume liquor retailer. And we weren't always called Chicago-Lake Liquors. In fact, when we originally opened our doors for business they swung toward Franklin. Thus, the ultra intuitive brand name Chicago-Franklin Liquors. The first 13 years of business were good. (Okay, really good.) Strapped for space, we moved south about nine blocks to our present home-sweet-home on East Lake Street — a savvy business move, as we acquired over twice the capacity while only having to change half our name.
Today, our consistently low prices and our conveniently central location continue to be the foundation of our success. Our promise to you is we will never outgrow who we are: An urban wine and spirits establishment without metal bars on our windows and a no-holds-barred approach to providing customers with the best deals in town. Period.
It's been a lot of fun over the years. We've sold a ton of wine, liquor, and beer. And we've managed to do it with that wonderful smile you'll only find when you come to Chicago Lake Liquors. We will always get better with age.
